What’s your mission?

Hand holding a compass against a sunset over a calm lake. The sun shines through the compass’s sight, creating a serene, reflective mood.

We’ve all worked for companies that have mission statements, and probably most of the time didn’t pay a lot of attention to them.

I believe that a mission is one of the most overlooked, yet potentially powerful tools for both businesses and individuals.

At its core, a Mission is why the organization exists and what it is trying to accomplish.

It serves as a rallying cry, a common direction, and provides a reason for the work we do beyond collecting paychecks.

Studies have shown that a company’s mission is more important to workers today than any time in the past. So having a solid, easily understood, and meaningful mission is a key differentiator in making your business one where people want to work.

But what about a personal mission?  Why do you do what you do?  What are you trying to accomplish in your life (personally and professionally)?

Unless we can answer these questions, we risk settling for unfulfilling work or moving from job to job without finding a place where we fit.

My mission is to help businesses and leaders build strong teams that will achieve great things.

What’s your mission?
